“As a former alum of WVNS, I didn’t think twice about choosing this school for my own childrens’ preschool years. All these years later, it still feels like a home away from home each morning when I drop my daughter off and see the smile on her face as she walks in. School, especially in these early years, should be a place where children feel the comfort, support and trust to take chances and try new experiences with confidence and that is exactly what this wonderful school and the staff provide. The incredible teachers, with each of their unique qualities, are able to approach each child in a personalized way, and help guide them at their pace while fostering strong social emotional skills. Equally important to the classroom curriculum is the deep community that WVNS fosters amongst the parents, either through serving on the Board, taking part in potluck nights, or just chatting on the stoop with a coffee after morning dropoff. The co-op model of the school brings parents into the classroom to take an active role in classroom experiences throughout the year, but also into each other’s lives in a meaningful way. Volunteering alongside parents and sharing laughs about the hysterical challenges of parenthood are some of my happiest memories at this school. As my daughter completes her final year in the Parlor Room this year, I am relishing every moment of this meaningful time for her at this very special school.”
